Modern Master Bedroom Designs Photos
When you first set out on a modern master bedroom design project, you will first of all need to consider the general style you are going for, the color scheme, and the size of the room. Normally, it’s wise to use light color shades in the bedroom. These lighter shades will give the impression of a more spacious area. If you have large windows that’s a plus too because flooding the room with natural light will also make the room feel more spacious.
Splashes of vivid color here and there will be effective maybe on the soft furnishings, drapes or an area rug. You will need to make sure that the carpets, curtains, bed linen all complement each other and serve to brighten the room. Your choice of accessories for example vases, framed pictures, ornaments, photographs, wall hangings and wall artwork must reflect your own personality. A point to remember with the accessories in your modern master bedroom design.. less is more. You might like to take a look at the Elegant Bedroom Paint Ideas here.
The next big decision for you to make is about the size of your bed. A small to medium sized room will look much less cluttered if you choose a queen-size bed. A king-size bed is perfect for a large bedroom. Your bed of course will be the focal point in the room and you should choose as big a bed as will comfortably fit in the space you have. Choose the design of the bed that you are comfortable with.
Decide on a theme for your modern master bedroom design. The choice is between traditional, formal or modern and when you’ve decided, then go shopping! Wooden beds suit the more traditional or formal look. The more stylish bed designs of wrought iron, brass or chrome offer a more modern look. There are also options you might want to consider. A four-poster bed, platform bed (headboards are separate), a spindle bed (which has an ornate railings design in the headboard and footboard) or a divan. If these choices sound mundane, why not consider a lascivious water bed.
Nightstands are both attractive and functional. Choose nightstands if possible, in the same style as the bed. They should be able to support basics like a table lamp, clock and a selection of books. A nightstand with drawers is better still and offers storage space for your essentials.
A dresser will typically come with a storage option of four or six drawers. A chest of drawers can double up nicely as a dresser with a mirror on it. On the other hand, you can purchase a dressing table with a separate full-length mirror. If space is a problem, you can mount your elegantly framed mirror, on the wall. Much will depend on the space you have available. And your budget of course.
By having plenty of storage options you will avoid the cluttered appearance. If you have a large master bedroom and space permits, place a wooden chest or a storage bench with an upholstered seat at the end of your bed. They are both functional and charming.
If you have built-in cupboards with lofts that’s a plus as they provide plenty of storage. The look of the cupboards can change the feel of the room. Full length mirrors mounted on the cupboard doors will create the illusion of space. Or, replicate the design on the headboard in the shutters to hold the theme. All wood shutters should match the shade of the bed and you’ll find that cupboards with frosted glass shutters give a colorful look to the room. Your modern master bedroom design should make you proud.
